Difficult to find Eames / Miller style rocker and ottoman.Made by Heywood Wakefield of Gardener, MA between 1960 and 1969.Black naugahyde upholstery coverings (other colors available when new).Includes the optional foot rest (ottoman).Model # 710 22Original finish "Walnut"Cast aluminum bases for both the rocker and ottoman.
An estate sale find reportedly in storage for 20 years. The swivel rocker and foot rest are in excellent co...ndition, especially considering their age of 50+ years. There are a few, slight heel scuffs on the foot rest top, but hardly noticeable. One upholstery button cap on the foot rest is missing. However, two button caps exist under the back cushion fastener snaps. Perhaps one of them could be relocated to the foot rest.
The hardwood framing and trim appears to be either oak or ash judging by the grain. The original "Walnut" finish has disintegrated except on the frame under the seat cushion. What remains is a uniform blonde - honey color. See detailed photo album. This is a very comfortable rocker / foot rest combo with great cushions. A great addition for the Heywood Wakefield Mid-Century collector!
