Description/Interesting Notes: A rare exampe of leadhillite with alamosite from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a robust, complex leadhillite crystal that hosts several intergrown bladed crystals of alamosite!!! Although the leadhillite crystal is incomplete, it shows an attractive combination of b...road, complex crystal faces and characteristic cleavage faces as well!!! There are several significant blades of translucent alamosite intergrown on one end as well!!! The original label notes "alamosite" on the reverse and it would be easy to mistake these crystals for anglesite at first - however upon close inspection they have PERFECT cleavage (perpendicular to the long axis, as you see in alamosite) and appear monoclinic!!! Upon close study they do appear to be alamosite (and very fine examples at that) but analysis is always worthwhile with Tsumeb!!! This specimen is from the collection of Shields & Frances Flynn and retains its original label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
