HULL DECK AND SUPERSTRUCTURE
HULL CONSTRUCTIONTYPE: Sailing displacement hull. The hull is constructed of a fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) laminate, finished withhomemade type brushed on paint above and an anti fouling paint below the waterline. The decks are constructed of anFRP cored laminate, finished with paint and a nonskid texture along the working surfaces. The cosmetic condition of thevessel was found to be in fair condition, showing her age and a "homemade" type brushed on paint job. The partitions, bulkheads and hull to deck joints were inspected where accessible and found to show no visual signs of weakness due toflexing or separation of their fastenings. Hull to deck joint was of the internal flange type construction, with stainlessfasteners.EXTERIOR HULL: Blue paint finish, showing brush marksPORTLIGHTS: None in hull structure, all ventilation and openings are deck level and above.BULKHEADS: Athwartships reinforcement enhanced by cored FRP bulkheads bonded to the hull with FRP (fiber reinforcedplastic). Appears serviceable where sighted.STRINGERS: Grid system of longitudinal and athwarthships stiffeners, serviceable where sighted.TRANSOM: FRP molded transom with stainless steel railing, serviceable.BILGE: Holding excessive oily water and sludge, this represents a potential submersion and environmental hazard/fines.CHAIN LOCKER (DRAINAGE): The chain locker is forward with drainage to bilge.KEEL EXTERNAL: Condition unknown, out of water inspection was not performed.DECK CONSTRUCTIONTYPE: Molded and cored FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) with white paint and non-skid surface. Softness and flexing notedforedeck around cabin house to deck joint area, excessive sealant noted around stanchion bases. Water staining notedheadliner areas port and starboard outboard, as well as inside cabinetry from water draining down from deck above.COCKPIT: Aft cockpit design with pedestal steering and bench seating port and starboard, molded FRP with white paintfinish.DECK FITTINGSSTANCHIONS: Stainless steel stanchions with double cable vinyl covered lifelines, run the perimeter of deck from bow railto stern rail, port and starboard with boarding gates port and starboard. Excessive sealant noted for stanchion basemounts to deck. Cracking noted for vinyl on lifelines.BOW PULPIT (BOW RAIL): Welded stainless steel bow rail, serviceable.TOE RAILS: Raised FRP bulwarks with painted teak cap railing, serviceable.VENTILATION: Provided by portlights/hatches. Adequate.SCUPPERS: Side decks and cockpit are equipped with molded FRP scuppers with drain fittings leading to securely clampedhoses, serviceable.MOORING CLEATS: Four 10" aluminum mooring cleats, thru bolted and serviceable.WINDLASS/GROUND TACKLE SYSTEM: 12 VDC by Powerwinch. Installed ground tackle consisted of a CQR type plow typegalvanized anchor with approximately 100' 5/16" HT galvanized chain. A Danforth with spare rode was also noted onboard.HAWSE PIPES: Forward above the chain locker, appears to be stainless steel. Serviceable.GRAB RAIL: Painted wood grab rails on cabin house.ANCHOR PLATFORM: Anchor platforms and two bow rollers. Appears serviceable.SUPERSTRUCTUREMATERIAL: Cabin house and deck are one unit molded FRP (fiber reinforced plastic) and cored.WINDOWS/PORTS/DOORS: Hinged double doors, with slide back at cabin trunk for cabin entrance, forward cockpit, servicableCANVAS AND SUPPORT STRUCTURE: No bimini top or dodger observed on board the vessel.ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT AND ACCESSORIESDINGHY/TENDERS: 2015 West Marine RIB, bearing HIN WMPWF102K415, bearing Florida registration number FL 6078 PW.Powered by a two stroke Nissan 3.5 hp gas outboard, m/n NS3.5A , s/n 309-1 89155.FENDERS: A minimal array of fenders were observed on board the vessel at the time of survey.DOCK LINES: A minimal array of dock lines were observed on vessel at the time of survey, it is suggested that additionallines be obtained for travel/storm prep.
CABIN AND INTERIOR SYSTEMSINTERIOR DESCRIPTION:JOINERY AND FINISH: Molded FRP and painted with replaced headliner and paneling (household type) noted, water stainingwas observed throughout cabin area.INTERIOR BULKHEADS: Finely fit where observed.WATER INTRUSION SIGNS: Yes, port and starboard below sidedecks in cabinetry and throughout.STORAGE AREAS: The cabinets, lockers, drawers, and shelving were sighted and found to be serviceable.DOORWAYS: Serviceable and well fitting.FABRIC AND CUSHIONS: Serviceable.ACCOMMODATIONS: Forward stateroom with berth, convertible double to port setteeHEAD/BLACKWATER SYSTEM: The vessel was equipped with a manual flush head, which appeared serviceable. Waste isdirected to a polyethylene waste tank located forward, and on to deck pump out plates located side deck, clearlymarked for WASTE. USCG Marine Sanitation Device type III, holding tanks.FAUCETS/FRESHWATER SYSTEM: The vessel's freshwater system is supplied from two aluminum tanks, located bilge withan approximate capacity of 180 gallons. Pressure is supplied by a 12 volt pump with an inline screen/strainer. Tank fillwas located port side deck and forward, and were clearly labeled for WATER. The vessel was also equipped with aKuuma 6 gallon water heater, appears recent within the last 5 years. Water heater was equipped with relief valve andheat exchanger plumbing to the engine. Serviceable system.LIGHT FIXTURES: Cabin/courtesy lights throughout the vessel were operable except if noted.GALLEYGALLEY SYSTEMS: Galley is located to port upon entrance to the cabin area. Equipped with a heavily corroded doublestainless basin with drainage to a bronze 90 degree ball valve and thru hull below, a two burner propane stove/oven, insulated top loading refrigerator/ freezer box with compressor observed cockpit locker. Stove was gimbal mounted, with copper LP supply tubing and flex connection.

In conjunction, adjustable motor mounts arebolted to the stringers and are used to align the engine to the hull stringer structure. Serviceable.LUBRICATION: Normal level observed.VENTILATION: NaturalEXHAUST SYSTEM: Raw water cooled wet exhaust, double clamped with 1/2" marine grade all stainless hose clamps, withhardwall rubber exhaust hose and waterlift muffler, exiting at transom, serviceable. Corrosion noted for elbow.ENGINE ALARMS: Low oil pressure alarm and coolant over heat warning audible at helm station. Appears serviceable.ENGINE SHUT DOWN: Pull shut down at the cockpit pedestal, operable.COOLING SYSTEMTYPE: Closed reservoir type cooling (heat exchanger) with raw water cooled exhaust.COOLANT LEVEL: Normal level observed.HOSES AND CLAMPS: Re-inforced rubber hose securely clamped and well routed and supported, where sighted.BELTS AND PULLEYS: Belt condition appears serviceable. Carry spares on vessel at all times.SEACOCKS AND STRAINERS: Note that seacocks and strainers on this vessel were not accessible for inspection as the bilgewas holding a large amount of oily water, which was covering seacocks and strainers.TRANSMISSIONSDRIVE TYPE: Vee Drive inboard, Kanzaki m/n KM3V, s/n 00535, 2.6 ratioCOUPLER (SAFETY WIRE): Shaft coupler was inspected and found to be serviceable.PACKING GLAND: Dripless type by PSS, four stainless steel hose clamps on rubber accordion hose, serviceable.
FUEL SYSTEMMAIN ENGINE(S) FUEL SYSTEMFUEL TYPE: DieselMATERIAL: One 60 gallon aluminum tank, located keel tank centerline sole, with fill located starboard side deck. Apolyethylene tank of approximately 30 gallons was observed aft of engine, appears to have been replaced within thelast few years. Condition of centerline forward tank is unknown as access is limited.FUEL MANIFOLD VALVES: Port forward engine compartment, labeled for tank selectionVENT LOCATION: Starboard topsides, serviceable.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEMSELECTRICAL SYSTEM (D.C. SYSTEM)VOLTAGE: Lead acid battery powered 12 volt system. Three each, BCI group size 24 batteries located starboard aft quarterberth forward area.PANEL: The main DC panel was located at the nav station to starboard. Overcurrent protection was provided by a mainbreaker and individually labeled branch breakers and fuses.ROUTING/SUPPORT: AdequateCHARGING SYSTEM (BATTERY CHARGER): Two solar panels, approximately 80 watts each, no legible labeling. VictronEnergy solar controller observed, MPPT 100. Note that solar controller is wired directly to batteries with no over currentprotection on conductors, with "gator" type spring clamping attached to batteries - this is not ABYC compliant.CHARGING SYSTEM (ALTERNATOR): Belt driven alternator on engine appeared serviceable and recent.MAIN BATTERY SWITCHES: On/off/selector rotary type, serviceable.ELECTRICAL SYSTEM (A.C. SYSTEM)SHORE POWER INLET: One Marinco 30 amp, 125 volt inlet located starboard outboard of the cockpit.MAIN BREAKER: In the main AC panel, along with individually labeled branch breakers. Also starboard aft cockpit locker, adjacent to galvanic isolator.CONNECTIONS (TYPE): Captive lug type. Appears serviceable where sighted.WIRE TYPE (SIZE AND RATING): Size and rating, where sighted, appears well routed and supported, serviceable for intendeduse.OUTLETS: Various A.C. outlets available throughout yacht, appear adequate and conveniently located. GFCI outlets noted, not tested due to no AC power.POLARITY: A reversed polarity indicator was observed at the main electrical panel.GALVANIC ISOLATOR: Quicksilver 30 amp, located aft bilge area to starboard, serviceable.
STEERING SYSTEMSTEERING SYSTEMTYPE: Edson pedestal with cable steering, pulleys and quadrant. Serviceable. Stainless steel cables rotating a radialquadrant bolted and keyed to the rudder post. Monitor often.PACKING GLAND: Compression nut on gland, with flex hose and four stainless steel hose clamps, serviceable. Monitor often
ELECTRONICS AND NAVIGATION EQUIPMENTVHF: Standard Horizon Eclipse and Icom IC-M502 VHF's, powered up.AUTOPILOT: Raymarine ST autopilot, verify upon trial runSPEEDLOG: Raytheon depth, wind and speed display unitsCOMPASS: 5" Danforth Constellation, pedestal mounted, serviceable.ANTENNAS: All antennas sighted appear to be well mounted and serviceable.
THRU-HULLS:NOTE: Below the waterline thru hull fittings and valves were not all inspected during this inspection due to excessive oilywater in bilges covering valves and strainers.
BONDING SYSTEMMAIN BONDING CONDUCTOR: Grounding conductor noted at the mast, no bonding wires at the individual thru hulls.
STANDING RIGGINGMAST: Keel stepped aluminum mast, painted, single spreader rig with boots on the spreaders. Appears serviceable.Aluminum boom, gooseneck was inspected also, all were found to be serviceable.SHROUDS AND STAYS: 1 x 19 stainless rigging wire with swaged fittings, above and below, serviceable with no brokenstrands sighted. Combination of Norseman and swaged fittings noted.TURNBUCKLES: Chromed bronze turnbuckles of the open design appeared serviceable, rings noted on the barrels.CHAIN PLATES: Internal chain plates bolted to the hull, appear serviceable. Complete inspection not possible withoutdisassembly of vessel. It is recommended that vessel be disassembled to allow for inspection of the chain plates, beforeany off shore voyage. It is further recommended that the chain plates be pulled for inspection, as the area of the plate surrounded by the deck cannot be inspected otherwise.
RUNNING RIGGINGWINCHES: Lewmar 16 forward cockpit, tightLewmar 48, 3 speed, jib sheets - 2 each, serviceableLewmar 40, 2 speed, - 2 each, serviceableBarient 16 & 18 at the mast, halyard winches, serviceableAll winches were tight, complete servicing is recommended.SAIL TRACK: Toe rail mounted, port and starboard, serviceable.BLOCKS: All blocks and organizers were inspected and appear serviceable. All lines lead to cockpit.MAIN SHEET TRAVELER: Cabin house top, serviceable.REEFING SYSTEM: Jiffy reefing for the main with two reef points, roller furling for the headsail.HALYARDS: Halyards were braided and color coded, serviceableROLLER FURLING GEAR: Profurl roller furling, serviceable.SNAP SHACKLES: Appeared serviceable
SAILSMAINSAIL: Mainsail appears serviceable, however it should be noted here that the sail has been left installed on the boomwith no cover.HEADSAIL: Roller furling headsail, serviceable.SAIL COVERS & BOOTS: None observedHEAD: The head, tack, and clew were all inspected for the main, tack and clew for the headsail. Serviceable.
