French Antique 6 Arm Bronze Wood & Glass Oil Lantern Lion Head Chandelier 1214
This fantastic mid century 6 arm chandelier is oozing with French country charm and character.The center column of the chandelier is bronze with a leaf pattern and a round hardwood base with decorative bronze finial.There is a bronze ring around the wooden piece and 3 half rings forming the arms which hold the 6 lantern holders.Each of the lantern holders are wood and bronze with 2... detailed lion heads with chains on each holder.The funnels are bulbous shaped white opaque glass and sit neatly into their holders.The chain has 1 link which leads to a long bar and plain round ceiling rose. Approximate Measurements are Maximum Height from top of ceiling rose to bottom of chandelier 75 cm Widest point 50 cm, Diameter of ceiling rose 13 cm
This is a heavy chandelier with the overall weight approximately 6.65 KG.
The light is working with its original French 3 core wiring and takes 6 large screw in bulbs.The frame work is solid and does have some aged patina and verdigris and age related marks which adds to its character. The bronze has been cleaned but not polished so you can decide on its overall finish.The glass funnels are in good condition with no cracks or chips just marks associated with use.
This fabulous chandelier would be a great focal point in any traditional or eclectic room setting, great for high ceilings.
