Description/Interesting Notes: (NOTE: We just returned from the Denver Show and some other buying trips and have acquired a number of very exciting specimens - be sure to stay tuned throughout this and the upcoming weeks for some amazing acquisitions!)A unique example of rhodochrosite from Mexico!!! This specimen consists of... a sharp, dramatically elongated crystal of rhodochrosite in association with a small amount of darkly colored matrix!!! The rhodochrosite crystal exhibits a unique prismatic form with razor-sharp, complexly modified faces and brilliant, glassy luster!!! The crystal has fine, gemmy clarity and a showy pink hue with accents of unique, deep salmon-like tones!!! The martix provides an aesthetic compliment as well, with a unique, bubbly appearance and dark, contrasting color and texture!!! A fantastic example of this prized mineral species from Mexico!!!
