Here is something we found while going through some flats of fossils that were stored away for years. This is a very nice tooth from the dinosaur, Saltasaurus robustus, from the Cretaceous of Argentina. Dinosaur remains from Argentina are very difficult to obtain - this ...collectible specimen was acquired in the early 1990's at the Tucson Fossil Show. Saltasaurus is a relatively small, armor-plated titanosaurid, and its peg-like teeth are quite distinct. This is a fine tooth with a cool pointed tip - most Saltasaurus teeth have chisel-like tips worn flat from use. The beautiful corrigated enamel is quite colorful and generally in fine condition on the display side (some weathering on the back side). Overall, this is a very nice and extremely rare specimen of a difficult-to-obtain dinosaur tooth from the Southern Hemisphere.A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS.com is included with this item.
