Hamilton Watch Co. 18 size 21 jewel open face lever-set Grade 940 pocket watch marked “Fred McIntyre, So. McAlester, I.T.” to its dial and marked “Made Expressly for Fred McIntyre by Hamilton Watch Co.” to its movement. A notable and rare private label marking, Fred McIntyre was a jeweler in South McAlester, Indian Territory (later Oklahoma) and a few years later went on to found the McIntyre Watch Company. Th...is example is housed in a glassback display case with Hamilton marked bezels, and its dial is double-sunk enamel with Arabic numerals. Movement serial number is 160134.Running and a very nice looking movement with good color and luster. Dial faces up very well though has some mild flaws including some scattered hairlines and some very small surface flakes and scratches. Case is in good condition but has not been cleaned up or polished so has some tarnish as found. Good glass crystals with just a tiny edge flake at the bottom of the rear crystal.
