MICHAEL JACKSONS PERSONAL WORN CUSTOMIZED CHRISTIAN DIOR RED CARDIGAN. THIS CARDIGAN SWEATER WAS MADE BY MICHAEL JACKSONS COSTUME DESIGNER BILL WHITTEN AND BEARS BILL WHITTENS CUSTOM LABEL ON THE INSIDE ALONG WITH A SPECIAL "J" PATCH. MICHAEL JACKSON CAN BE SEEN WEARING SIMILAR SWEATERS ON MANY OCCASSIONS. MICHAEL JACKSON CAN EVEN BE SEEN WEARING A SIMILAR SWEATER WITH A BLUE BAND ON THE ARM IN THE FILM "MOONWALKER".
This piece will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity from ...a previous employee of Bill Whitten, and coa from auction house.
My name is Richard Fossaas I started to collect Michael Jackson items back in 1988, I’m born and raised in Norway. Over the last 30 years I’ve been all over the world in the hunt for MJ items and bought EVERYTHING I have came across. I have spent everything I owe on MJ items and more, over the years I’ve sold my car, houses and even my business to invest and buy Michael Jackson items. I do tons of research of each item before I buy. My plan over the years has always been to create a Michael Jackson museum. In 2014, I moved to Miami, USA to continue this work. In 2015 I got a business partner for the MJ project and we started to plan and promote the museum. Late 2016 I moved to Los Angeles to find a location for the museum. We found a spot at Hollywood Blvd that would have been perfect for MJ and the museum. The name would have been The Moonwalk Exhibition. To that day I had managed to get around 30.000 items including a warehouse with vintage MJ merchandise we could sell at the museum. The museum store would have been filled with around 20.000 items and the museum it selfs with around 10.000 items. We had everything planned and designed for the location, including framing and displays for all the items...authentication and working with MJs previous people, designers and managers, talking to family members etc.The total investment was over $2.000.000.- But sadly in 2018 there was a new law in California that protects dead celebrities. Meaning you can’t make money on a celebrity’s name. Even though the museum wouldn’t have his name it would have been his items inside. After contacting the Michael Jackson estate they said they would not support a museum, and if any case they would claim 80% of the gross income. This made it impossible for us to continue this project and 90% of these items will now be put for sale by me. I am still a super fan and a collector and I will keep the items that a precious to me, like the Billie Jean costume etc.. If any questions feel free to ask, I know a lot of MJ fans are mad at me because I have vacuum the marked for items for years, but my intentions was good, it was so all the fans could enjoy them together at one place. Sadly now I’m selling they will be all spread around again.
