Sellingthis amazing and extremely rare double branded 1940s Cyma Tavannes Watersporttank with an oversized Clamshell case. This phenomenal piece also features afantastic two tone dial and is powered by Cyma’s first automatic movement, therevered cal R.420 (bumper movement). You rarely see one of these specimens hitthe market, especially with this condition, and did I mention it also comeswith a NOS bracelet that is similar very similar to the mythical Gay Freres braceletf...or Zenith. Movement: CalibreR.420 (bumper movement; Cyma’s first automatic movement). The movement is runningstrong and well, but as for any vintage piece to be used on a daily basis, would recommend a service.
Year: Circa1940s
Case: Featuresan elegant & unpolished stainless steel clamshell waterproof case. The casehas some very minor scratches and it retains its incredible & originalchamfers. The case measures ~29mm (excluding the crown), ~39.6mm lug to lug andhas a lug width of ~18mm. The caseback is in excellent condition as well. Theinside of the case also includes the famous clamshell Brevet + 189190 stamp. As with any vintage watch, the watch shouldn't be put under water.
Dial &Hands: The very well preserved two-tone dial (which changes color dependingon the lighting) has aged beautifully, with very limited patina marks, and retainsits original radium and the text is fully intact. The wonderful pencil handsalso retain the original radium lume and are also in an outstanding condition.
Bracelet: Comesfitted with a New Old Stock NOS bracelet that is similar very similar to themythical Gay Freres bracelet used on Zenith chronographs
Crystal: OriginalClamshell crystal that is in like new condition
