Let me just start by saying I know little about watches so am simply describing what I can see and letting the photos do the rest. This is a Very Collectable + Desirable Antique Watch that dates from the 1930's. Made in 18ct Yellow Gold by J W Benson Ltd it is a Swiss Made 15 Jewels Wristwatch that I believe from the size is a Man's and comes with a Square case, a Hand-Winding Mechanical movement but without a Strap. Part of the edge on both sides is slightly engraved, ...the case opens from a hinge at the top and as is normal the winder is not made of Gold. The back of the movement is marked 15 Jewels - Swiss Made - Patented and the code number is 750494. The edge of the case is maked with 18 for the Gold Purity and the Crown Mark for Gold. The inside of the case has various Jeweller's marks along with the words - London Made and the number 1855. It is then fully hallmarked as photographed with JWBLD for the maker, the Leopards Head mark for London Assay Office, the date letter r for 1932, the Crown mark for Gold, 18 for the Gold Purity and it has been electronically tested at a precious metal refinery to confirm the metal content. The Watch face measures 21mm square while the case measures 26mm square not including the lugs. The case with the glass weighs 9.8g so even deducting for the glass you are looking at approx £290 of scrap Gold as of 01/06/20. The Watch is in a working condition and keeps good time though I have only been running it for a couple of days. As is normal the face could do with a good clean, the glass is scratched, the end of the winder has lost it's colour and the hands are a little bent. The rest of the case is in a used but good condition with just the usual minor surface wear and no damage apart from some loss of shape to the lugs at the ends. There is also a tiny amount of solder at one end of each of the engraved patterns to the sides as you can see in the last 2 photos but I do not believe this really detracts.
