Very Rare Plymouth Watch Co. Illinois Grade 64 18s 17j Antique Pocket Watch
Item History & Price
The double sunk white enamel dial, signed Plymouth Watch Co U.S.A., is in good condition with chip missing around the center hole, small chip on the edge near 6 o'clock, a hairline at 4 o'clock, and some bezel rub around the edge. Dial features black Arabic numerals for hours. The blued steel moon hands are in good condition with a nice patina.
The swing out style nickel open face case, manufactured by the Star Watch Case Company, is in very good condition showing only typical light scuffs and scratches but no significant damage. Bezel screws on and off easily as it should for access to the setting lever. Bow is free but secure to the pendant. The crown is slightly worn but functions well. Crown pulls up easily to allow the movement to be swung out. Excluding the pendant, the case measures 57.65 mm across. The mineral glass crystal has some light scratches across the surface but is in good condition with no chips or cracks.
Watches I sell are typically ran for at least 48 hours in both the dial up and 12 o'clock up positions to make sure they are keeping reasonable time. Watches have not been cleaned or serviced unless otherwise specified. Watches should be cleaned and serviced to guarantee accuracy and to preserve them for years to come.
