It is a very unusual multiple plate of Olenellus from the Lower Cambrian of York County, Pennsylvania. This fine specimen was unearthed on May 19, 2014 and has been in our collection until now. This amazing fossil has THREE Olenellus represented - one partial and two complete trilobites, one with the tailspine present. The large bugs (about two inches long) are quite distinct and have very nice detail preserved. The impressive trilobites are easily seen on the large, natural plate of shale. But the REAL collectible feature of this fossil is that the two complete trilobites are preserved overlapping each other and are also upside down mirror images of each other - WOW! This kind of natural (kinky mating?) display is extremely rare in the fossil record! This is a unique example two complete Olenellus fossilized forever in a mirror image pose.
