This Vintage 1966 Longines Grand Prize Automatic has a fair amount of wear with several noticeable scratches on the crystal, most notably next to the 12. The back is engraved as the watch was a retirement gift. The watch does run but often takes a bit of shaking to spin the automatic rotor to get it going. The crown Manual winding does not seem to be very effective. But once going the rotor keeps it wound with plenty of power reserve. The watch is however running a little slow. It lose...s about 27 seconds every hour. So after 11 hours it’s about 5 minutes behind. The watch could use a service as it’s likely old oil that’s causing it to lose time. Regardless it’s a beautiful Longines with a 10k Gold Filled case. The added bonus is the hour markers are numerical but are still elegant, keeping the classic dress watch style while making the watch very easy to read.
