1968 Fender Telecaster W/ Bigsby Bridge Blond Vintage American Maple Cap RARE
Item History & Price
This rare fifty-one-year-old American-made Tele wears her patina and character with pride. Maintained with love, used, not abused, You're bidding on a veteran of decades of live performance. She has the wear and battle scars to prove it. Some folks pay big bucks to have their guitar "Relic'd". Pros know the difference. She was retired from the road by 2000. A renowned luthier gave her... a new life with a much-needed fret job in 2007, and set her up to play and sound like she did in 1968. Neck Pickup: Original w/ Fralin Rewind to Specs, Bridge Pickup: Van Zandt, hand wound, Combine, TX. Original Case: Black Tolex, orange plush inside, the latches close and the Fender Logo is intact, which is rare. The case has had its share of knocks. It's in fair to good condition. It's had some TLC. Probably needs more. Please look carefully at the photos. They are the best guide to the condition of this amazing, vintage guitar and original case.

Includes original Black Hardshell Case with orange plush lining (Works, but needs some TLC)Chock Full of History, and Vintage American Mojo!In 2007-2008, my excellent luthier sent the non-working Original Neck Pickup to the legendary Lindy Fralin for an expert, historically accurate rewind/restoration. He reused the original parts for the repair. Please check out the Fralin Pickup site, especially "Repair/Restoration" for more info.
In what I believe was the early eighties, the original owner, apparently replaced the stock Tele pickup with a Van Zandt hand wound replacement pickup. Please check out Van Zandt Pickup website for more info.In my humble opinion, the repairs are just as much of the history of this guitar, as is the patina, the paint yellowing from countless gigs, the scuffs, dings, sweat, wear marks, intricate age-etched lacquer patterns, and decades of music this American-made Fender faithfully delivered to entertain live audiences.
If your heart's desire is a rare, true vintage, historical, authentic, well-loved, mojo-filled, 1968 Telecaster (with a smooth Fender-branded, factory-Bigsby B-5), a loved guitar that has been gently maintained and restored to play like a charm, this just might be the guitar for you.
Please study the many photos carefully. They are your best guide to this instrument.
