Vintage (60’s)Isamu Noguchi AKARI 4a Table Lamp, appears to be complete, and is tested and working. Lamp in unused, (exception: set up for photos)? in original packing. The box and marketing materials identify it as model 4a. I’ve been unable to find this model for sale on the market, and so suspect it has been discontinued. It appears to be the same shape as model 5a. Also included in the sale is a vintage 6 page fold out marketing brochure, printed on both sides, not included as ...part of the original packaging.The item is from the estate of an Art Professor, (b. 1927), who was an Akari dealer in the 1960’s. It has been in climate controlled storage for many years. While the lamp is in good condition overall, I do not know the effects of time and Pennsylvania climate on the materials used in the lamp’s construction. The photos are an integral part of the listing. Please review them carefully to determine condition, completeness and suitability of the item before bidding. The only detectable flaws I could find are featured twice in photos #11 and #12.
