This pin however, is an extremely rare piece. It's the first pin of their running candidacy, but it's not like their 1908 candidacy pin. Instead o...f the red background of their 1908 pin this pin is entirely "white" with a cut of red around the pin. The arms linking are entirely different than the 1908 version, the arm that is holding the torch is skinny and small in size (particularly childish sized hand), the torch is significantly bigger with big stylized flames. Ben Hanford's picture is the same, but Eugene V. Dens picture is different where he is looking left and his head positioned differently.
On the back of the pin it reads "Read THE WORKER 184 William Street New York W. & H. Co. This building was ran by the Socialist Cooperative Association which would be the Socialist Literature Co. During this time THE WORKER was a publication promoting Socialism and political stances. This was before THE DAILY WORKER.
To what I've found this pin could be the only pin in its variation sold on public auction on eBay. It's a museum quality piece and in existence is highly sought after. This is a one time opportunity to have one of the rarest pieces of socialist history. In essence one of the rarest Socialist pins.
