Here I have for auction is a real nice 0 gauge Scale Craft engine and tender with 4 cars and a caboose. To start I have gone through the engine and tender from head to toe with a lot of rebuilding. The engine and tender have been cleaned, rewired and gone through to make sure everything is in good working order. The engine and tender may not be as detailed as a Lionel 700e, but for it's time period it sure does operate and pull quite well. The engine is a heavy bronze metal and the tend...er with a small ding in the front left side has a type of sheet metal and operates well with it's rebuilding. There is a manual 3 position e-unit in back end of the engine with handles to move either forward or backward to put it in the position you want. For this time period the Scale Craft boys had there own way of powering up this unit with a brass bar sliding across the middle rail on the track. This can be raised up to change the direction of the e-unit for better operating it. I'm not real sure if the middle rail on there track was a tad higher or not, but my 0 gauge track works great. This engine runs quite well moving across my 0 gauge test track with no problems. The tender is the same way with a brass bar to operate the true blast sound from Williams sound system that I installed to give it that steam whistle and ringing bell sound. I have purchase a Lionel K-Line whistle and bell controller to operate this Williams true blast sound in case there is not a whistle and bell system built in your transformer to operate. I have the directions on how to hook it all up to your transformer. .As you can see I have spent a many of hours respraying the shells on this engine and tender. For the 85 years it was made. It looks like the paint had been flacking off pretty much. So I decided this will look very nice with a new paint job. For the rest of the train set are the scale cars of different types with some scale couplers. The cars have some marks and dings but they do look good and hook up with each other pretty well. Okey, this engine and tender and cars will need to be run on a flat T Rail type track with a wide radius like Lionel Fast Track or Gargraves with 72 inches or wider curves because of the weight of the engine and cars it's pulling. So look this engine and tender over well cause your probably never going to see another one like this with the way it looks and the way it runs. So please e-mail if you have any questions on this pretty nice train set.
