This vintage Chinese qipao cheongsam blue lace white silk banner dress dates from the 1930s. It is handsewn made of a royal blue color silk lace floral leaf pattern fabric with a white silk fabric backing lining inside and white silk spiral scrolling trim accents. Manchu women wore a one-piece dres...s which were called "qipao" or "banner dress" and later became the traditional dress for Chinese women. This beautiful blue lace Chinese cheongsam dress has an form fitting style, is a long below the knee length, with a mandarin collar, short cap sleeves, side snaps, decorative silk toggle closures and is fully lined in a white fine silk fabric with scalloped edgings. The dress measures 50 inches long, with a 34 inch bust, 28 inch waist, 36 inch hips and a 13 inch neck. It is in good as-is condition, with some faint discoloration under the arms, inside lining of the neck and a few frayed small breaks in the lace. This is truly a wonderful piece of custom made Chinese cheongsam wearable art!
